Nuri Al-Maliki breaks fast at Al-Khoei Foundation

Nuri al-Maliki the Prime Minister of Iraq attended a traditional Ramadhan Iftar at Al-Khoei Foundation, New York on Monday night. At the Iftar, he was welcomed by Sheikh Fadhel Al-Sahlani, who is the director of the Foundation and North American Representative of the Grand Ayatollah Ali Al-Hussaini Al-Sistani.

After the Iftar the Prime Minister was escorted by Sheikh Al-Sahlani on a tour of the Foundation, the Islamic Center and the Al-Iman School. Sr. Iman Dakmak-Rakka, the principal of Al-Iman School, along with a group of students, welcomed the Prime Minister and his delegation to the school and made a presentation about it.

The Prime Minister later gave remarks about the developments in Iraq and thanked the Al-Khoei Fondation for hosting him. Afterwards, he fielded questions from a multinational audience, numbering over 800, hailing from Iraq, Pakistan, India, Iran, Africa and other places.

At the conclusion of the program the Prime Minister was presented with a plaque and a copy of Qur'an in recognition of his hard work for the nation of Iraq.
