Imam Al-Khoei Benevolent Foundation Unreservedly Condemns the Attack on Procession

Imam Al-Khoei Benevolent Foundation, New York unreservedly condemns the attack of Al Qaeda terrorists on an annual procession against terrorism held on Sunday, Feb 05, 2006 in Midtown Manhattan, New York.

During this attack, that took place in broad daylight, a religious scholar was accosted by a group of terrorists as he was marching in this procession. According to a witness, a scuffle ensued because these mischief mongers manhandled the scholar and called him an infidel and also used abusive words against a dearly held saint, Imam Hussain AS (The Grandson of the Prophet Mohammad SAWW). Besides using abusive language they also brought placards and satirical portraits of venerable Islamic jurists to provoke the sentiments of Shiites who had gathered in the mourning procession. Click here for more details .

A statement issued against this attack by the Foundation said, “The Foundation is shocked by the incident that took place today. These attackers represent an ideology of hate and bigotry, which needs to be stopped immediately. In the coming days we will be working with federal and local law enforcement authorities on reporting this hate crime, so as to prevent any further occurrences.â€

This Wahabi cult of hate mongers and bigotry has now reached the shores of North America and the rest of the west. They have been spitting venom against Shi’a Muslims and believers of other faiths in the name of Islam and have been responsible of much larger campaigns for genocide against Shi’a Muslims in Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia.

Commenting on the attackers the UN Representative of the Foundation, Syed Meesam Razvi said, “These are the kind of people who fly planes in to buildings. Today they came with sticks, fists and abuses; tomorrow they will come with knives, machine guns and bombs. We need to do some thing now to stop them in their tracks"

Shi'ite communities worldwide mark the beginning of every lunar year by remembering the martyrdom of Imam Hussain AS (The Grandson of the Prophet Mohammad SAWW) and organizing congregations and rallies to condemn terrorism.

Al-Khoei Benevolent Foundation, established by Grand Ayatollah Al-Khoei (RA) in 1989, is the largest Shi’a Muslim religious-charitable organization. The Foundation has more than 15 branches all across the world, where it is responsible for the maintenance of Schools, Colleges, Universities and Islamic Centers. The Foundation is the only Shi’a Muslim organization that enjoys a General Consultative Status with United Nations.

Comment: Fri, 24 Feb 2006 15:33:57 - Dear Momineen,
I was also shocked to see this in the video the real Wahabi people who would have no problem killing Hazara Shias in Afghanistan and bombing Imam's roza in Samarrah. There pupils have been killing Shia brothers is Pakistan for years.

We can get angry and start fighting with them verbally and perhaps physicall but think about that for a minute what will that buy us ?

We need a strategy that prepares our kids to follow what Syed Ali Seestani is saying. Where people are being murdered left and right but the good Shias are holding on to "Sabr". However along with Sabr we need to teach our children how to face this kind of humiliation with verbal argument [much like we did in Karbala]. As that is what will be more affective in this country and other areas where people are now living in the age of

Comment: Thu, 09 Feb 2006 08:49:26 - This act of Terrorism should not be tolerated. These Wahabis and Yazidi Taliban had done enough damage to the true religion of Islam and if We do not expose these people to the American Community and Law Enforcing Agencies , then it means we are opening the door for these kinds of act of terrorism on us. We should work together to bring these crimnals to justice for their attack on our sacred Procession Juloos. I appeal to all the shia Community to keep their eyes and ear opens so you can detect these kinds

Comment: Wed, 08 Feb 2006 18:32:49 - This is an act of intrusion, This should not happen when we are supposed to be protected by the Homeland Security. We have the right to know why these terrioist were released by the police after this shameful incident. This was a hate crime in the procession. Our government is listening to phone taps of calls to all such extreme religious groups, who have distorted the peaceful religion of Islam, but, they have no clue what is under their noses. Americans have no clue the difference between Shia muslims and others. The media hides the actual peaceful site of Islam and Shiaism. The only show the worst actions of all these terriorists and embellish on

Comment: Wed, 08 Feb 2006 15:22:22 - I totally disagree with those how try hard to disunite people and muslims as well .
God created us and ordered us to like eachother , but not to hate eachother, therefore we should all work together to stop all those who call themselves " reall muslims and other are not " and those who belive that " they are people of God and others are not ".
God loves those who like eachother, help eachother .

Thank

Comment: Wed, 08 Feb 2006 13:29:17 - I strongly condemn this kind of immature behaviour of so called muslims. I was also in the procession and I saw them distributing flyers and brochures. I don't understand to whom they want to expose? Expose Shiaism or Expose their ugly souls. They are terrorist that's what they showed by doing such disgraceful

Comment: Tue, 07 Feb 2006 19:16:24 - If these Peoples are not terrorist than what else can you classify them? In Pakistan, Afganistan, Iraq and elsewhere if not them, then there brothers in arms have slaughtered them and are still slaughtering Shias. There faces of these peoples should be exposed and sent to Guantamamo Bay to rot in this world and hereafter forever, In this country we are much safer that the country of our origin. The saddest day in Islam was when Abu-Sufyan lanat ul -lah became Muslim. The terrost got Islam from Abu Suftan's off shoot Ma'wiya and Yezid and no wonder they are behaving like ma'wiya and
