New York, Feb 26, 2006 – Over five thousand Muslim men, women and children braced the below freezing temperature to gather at a protest rally organized by Al-Khoei Foundation in New York, opposite United Nations Head Quarters on 47th Street and 1st Ave. In addition to Al-Khoei Foundation, the rally was co-sponsored by Anjuman-e-Janisaraan-e-Ahlulbayt, Msoomeen School, Brooklyn Mosque, Husseini Madrassa, JANA (Shah-e-Najaf), Jafria Council, Mehfil-e-Shah-e-Khurasan, Baitul Qaim, Aastana-e-Zahra, Zainabia Islamic Center, MFI, UMAA, Jaafaria Center, Islamic Institue of New York, Islamic Research Institute, CAIR, MCN and numerous other Shia and Sunni Muslim organizations from all across North America.

This rally came in succession to the Saturday Feb 25, 2006 rally held in London, UK under Foundation’s auspices to protest against the barbaric bombings of the Golden Dome and the Shrine of the Tenth and Eleventh Imam of the Prophet Mohammad’s lineage.
The rally was led by prominent Shiite scholars from the East Coast with Sheikh Fadhel Al-Sahlani of the Foundation opening the addresses calling for preservation of shrines, not only as religious institutions but also as works of art. Thereafter, speaker after speaker, including Adam Caroll of Muslim Consultants Network, Imam Salihou Djabi of Imam Ali Mosque from Ahlul Sunnah emphasized on Muslim unity against atrocities being committed in the name of Islam in Iraq and elsewhere.

Sheikh Fadhel Al-Sahlani addressing the protest rally.
The speeches were punctuated with loud slogans calling for justice and peace and capture and punishment of perpetrators of this heinous crime against humanity.
Finally, in a gesture of solidarity between the Shiite and Sunni Muslims, Wissam Nasr, Executive Director of CAIR New York read a resolution, drafted by the Foundation.
“Therefore it be resolved, that a complete and comprehensive investigation, led by United Nations, is commenced of the horrific incident which took place on Wednesday, Feb 22, 2006 at the Holy Shrine in Samarra; That, the holy shrines in Iraq, including those in Najaf, Karbala, Kadhimain and Samarra be declared part of International heritage.”, stated the resolution. Syed Meesam Razvi, The United Nations Representative of the Foundation said that the resolution will be presented to Mr. Kofi Annan, with “several thousand signatures”, in the following week.
Earlier at noon, after the call for prayers, men, women and children faced the Ka’ba and offered their afternoon prayers marking the rally with a definite religious stamp.
Al-Khoei Benevolent Foundation, established by Grand Ayatollah Al-Khoei (RA) in 1989, is the largest Shi’a Muslim religious-charitable organization. The Foundation has more than 15 branches all across the world, where it is responsible for the maintenance of Schools, Colleges, Universities and Islamic Centers. The Foundation is the only Shi’a Muslim organization that enjoys a General Consultative Status with United Nations. |

However, I have a point to make.
If a crime happens somewhere, you do not blame the crime on your worst enemy without any proof just on the basis of his enmity to you. COLLECT THE EVIDENCE AND BLAME AND PUNISH THE PERPRETATOR. Blaming the crime on your worst enemy will not help avoiding such a situation in future. What if your HIDDEN enemy is trying to take advantage of your tunnel vision?? Also what about the people whose job is to provide security against such kind of crimes. Did they fulfill their responsibility? Are THEY doing enough to avoid such a situation in the future??
Why were all the aspects not covered in the protests?
Are we scared to talk about these?
Are we stupid?
ANY VESTED INTERESTS?

I was in the protest and there were so many banners conveying different messages instead of having one common message..........the media there was not sure what message to pick up ..........there is one newspaper in Long island that said It was protest against disrespect of Prophet(PBUH)...........this newspaper picked the point it liked ...........
There were so many shia people in that protest and you guys could have made it more effective if u guys (administration) have planned it well before going there................
May Allah(swt) bless u all

Comment: Fri, 03 Mar 2006 13:20:35 - Destruction of Golden Dome in Samarra, Iraq
This sad incident that took place in Samarra, Iraq on February 22nd 2006 is shameful and unbelievable. These Wahabe elements are determined to damage the whole philosophy of Islam. Destruction of holy shrine of Imam Ali Naqi and Imam Hasan Askari is the clear proof that they have no respect for the final resting place of these infallibles. These believers of Abdul Wahab ran the bulldozer through the tomb of Prophet Muhammad in early nineteen hundred and now this. A true believer can never think of doing such a heinous crime against the final resting place of any human being. They are playing with the emotions of millions of Muslims by committing these ugly acts.
May God help us all, try to understand and respect every faith and religion.

Comment: Thu, 02 Mar 2006 12:30:40 - Holy Prophet ( SAWS) said " I am leaving two valuable things - Quran and Ahlul Baith( AS) and if you cling to them, you won't be misguided." He also said " In return to my services, I ask you to LOVE my progeny." The Act in Iraq implies that the so called " muslims' did not follow and obey their own Prophet and destroyed the holy Shrine of great grandson of Prophet ( SAWS). All Shias and Sunnis should join together and root out the evil forces which claim to be " pure muslims" and in fact are hypocrites.
It is sad that after almost a thousand year of the our martyr Imams, these people have enimosity against them and their followers. The hypoctites should know that calling us "kafir" and acting against the Prophet ( SAWS) and bombing the holy places shows that they are not true muslims.
I am thankful to all people who came in below freezing and cold weather to show that they have true love for Prophet and his progeny.
May Allah reward you and the

From the PEACEFUL PROTEST RALLY can anybody identify who is a shia and who is a sunni -----NO.United are all seen here having one aim-to protest the bombarding of the sacred mosque. This UNITY is the SPIT of every protester here and everywhere else in the world on the faces of the Wahabis .Who was PRO. MUHAMMED [s.a]? What is Quran? Both the Shias and the Sunnis believe in these two vital pivots of Islam. Would they dare draw insulting cartoons of their beliefs? Who does not believe? The Wahabis - and therefore by taking advantage of the traditionalism of the Eastern world and lack of communication amongst the shias and sunni brothers ,the Wahabis THINK they have won in their instigations of creating a deep , dangerous trench in the Muslim Ummah. BUT in reality all their trechery has made ALL THE SHIAS AND THE SUNNI BROTHERS more united in different ways altogether.May ALLAH[swt] protect us all from the henious, trecheries and whisperings of the Satanic powers and their symbols and to grant all those who have suffered in these Powers and their symbols a great deal of patience, hope and awareness, Inshallah

These kind of rallies are all over the world and show unity between Shia and Sunni. This is a big slap on the ugly faces of those terrorists who want to shatter the unity between Shia and Sunni. Now they should ask themselves, what else they could do? they cannot shatter the unity between true Muslims. It prove we are sad but not weak, Inshahallah all the curses of Muslims will destroy them very

My salam to all who, despite the freezing temprature, stood in front of the United Nation and conveyed our feelings. This will bore results. As the followers of Ahlul Bait (A.S.) it is our duty to unite and stand such brutalism of WAHABIS. Thank you

Comment: Mon, 27 Feb 2006 16:20:04 - There is one problem that exists in the Ummah. Not all Muslims want to Unite against anyone, let alone Wahabiism. As a convert I have experienced racism and egotistical people inside the Muslim community. How can we possibly protect what is prescious to us- the shrines of the Holy Prophets (SAWS) family, when we cannot even protect and support one another inside our own communities. People are not United. They are in so many times out for their own personal interests even when it is just the small man that has no power. There are people around me, within my own community that just assume that a convert does not know anything and especially being a woman. I have been Muslim for 7 years. I observe and study alot. First people need to be United within the community and then they can protest peacefully outside of their communities. May God help those that are directly at the disposal of the terrorists in the Middle East and may Allah (SAWS) protect those that are that cannot protect themselves. I do not even know how those people feel being that I am in the US and pretty much physically untouched by what is happening. IF there is some way in which I could help the people in IRAQ physically I would. I don't trust that any money I would send would get to where it is suppose to go. I cry for the people that are dying in the name of the Prophet's (SAWS) family. If anything what an honour if they are good and pious. I am sad that the shrines are being destroyed. I hope that Allah(SWT) wills that no other shrines or Holy places are destroyed because I have hope that one day I will be able to take pilgrimage to these sites, even if I am an old woman. I hope that my children will be able to go one day. We have nothing here in America like these Holy places. I fear that even if I take a trip to Iraq one day that I will visit only remains of shrines. May Allah (SWT) protect what is left and the Shia that are protecting these Holy

Comment: Sun, 26 Feb 2006 20:54:57 - Keep up the good work New York. Congratulations on a powerful demonstration. Points to consider:
Who attacked the Twin Towers? Who attacked Bali? Who is Osama? Who are the insurgents? Who killed over 2000 of our soldiers in Iraq? Who attacked London? Who is the enemy number one of the US, of the world, of civilized humans in general? The answer is the WAHABIS.
Like poison, Wahabism is spreading fast, bringing with them their values of hatred and bloodshed as part of their religious duty. The only way to stop it is a separate and independent Shia state in the Middle East. Shias have a strong sense of justice - with Justice being part of their Usool-e-Din. Our values of justice, tolerance and patience are unmatched. An independent and autonomous Shia state in the Middle East would bring enduring peace and prosperity for the region. May God help us get there
